Effective date: October 11, 2026 (previous version: April 13, 2019)
The Ofek Foundation ("us", "we", or "our") operates the https://www.theofekfoundation.org website (the "Service"). This page explains what personal data the Service collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.
Most of the Service (the games and tools) works without an account and without sending us any personal data.
Accounts are optional. If you register or log in, we receive:
Passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication. We never see your password; Firebase stores it in hashed form.
When you save a game's settings, they are stored in your browser. If you are logged in, they are also stored with your account, so they follow you to other devices.
Guesses in the final round of Hangman are checked by our server. To limit how often anyone can guess, the server briefly keeps your IP address in memory (for a few seconds). It is not stored.
We use Google Analytics to understand how the Service is used: for example, which pages are visited, the type of browser and device, approximate location, and the time and date of visits. Google processes your IP address to provide this.
You can block cookies or clear your browser's storage at any time. The games and tools still work; you will just be logged out and your saved settings in that browser will be cleared.
We use the data above only to:
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
The Service runs on Google infrastructure. These providers process data on our behalf:
For more information on Google's privacy practices, see the Google Privacy & Terms page. For GitHub's, see the GitHub Privacy Statement.
We keep account information and saved settings until you ask us to delete them. To delete your account and its data, email us at the address below.
If you had an account on the previous version of this website, your old account (username, email address and saved game settings) has been kept so it can be restored on the new site. Email us if you would like it deleted instead.
Your information is processed and stored in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those where you live. By using the Service, you agree to this transfer.
The Ofek Foundation may disclose your Personal Data in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:
The security of your data is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Our Service may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit.
We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third party sites or services.
Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 18 ("Children").
We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your Children has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from children without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new Privacy Policy on this page and update the "effective date" at the top.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, or want your data deleted, please contact us:
